Overview
Being an Auto Mechanic for 30+ years, I replaced many, many Propshaft U Joints over this period of time, when I hear the word u joints I immediately think of the GMB brand.
This is because I have to think back a long, long way to one of my 1st prop u joint fitment jobs to recall an awful incident when I used a lesser quality u joint than GMB.
Here you will learn why GMB prop u joints are the best there is.
Pro’s
The elliptical bearing design delivers reliable performance under the heaviest of loads
Superior Durability, when compared to other brands
Con’s
There are none, except when I cannot find the correct part no. in time
Customers complain about the price occasionally
My Auto Part Supplier runs out of stock
Final Opinion
No other brand of prop u joint I ever tried in desperation came close to the ease of fitting, the quality tooling and machining and the durability ofGMB Universal Joints
My Personal Experience with GMB prop u joints
“It is the only prop u joints that I will ever use since”,
About 20 odd years ago, I proceeded to fit prop u joints to a Jeep Cherokee Sport and had to repeat the job a week later, due to inferior quality parts used.
We could not wait for the GMB brand to be delivered several days later, at the time, due to customer demand and time frames. A mistake I never repeated, as I only used GMB prop u joints since.
I have been 30+ years in the motor industry, still hands on, and have great passion for my chosen profession, I learn new things each day and believe that "if you enjoy your work, you never have to work a day in your life"I believe in honesty, integrity and helping where help is needed.
You know, a lot of people don’t think about brands of auto parts when doing the work themselves or paying a mechanic to do it. I know I don’t. But after reading this post, I will definitely request GMB u-joints if my vehicle needs it.
How do they compare price-wise to other u-joints? Is the difference so substantial that some people request lower quality parts?
Relating to your years of experience as a mechanic gave a lot of credibility to your article. The struggles of using inferior products lends credibility to using top grade parts no-mater the cost. Your video at the end is superb. I have a AA degree in Auto. Watching it brought a lot of memories.
Thank you very much for visiting my website and your positive comments, using quality parts not only ensures that your car will go for longer with the parts used, but it also builds a good rep with customers.
I had my fair share of bad judgement in this regard as the years have passed, but I am not known for making the same one twice.
As for GMB Prop U joints that debate was settled more than 20 years ago.

Hello Andy
Thank you for the visit to my website and the positive comments, as I only use GMB prop u joints I am out of touch with other brands,
I hear tell that GMB is slightly more expensive, but considering it’s durability I think in the long run it is less expensive.
All the best Andy
